Help! Maybe I missed something but where is thge garden located? I read that i’t’s near the railroad tracks but that covers a lot of territory. Is it by the tracks that extend westward from the NJ Transit’s tracks on the Bergen Line?

    • Julia Siegel says:

The garden is located along Erie Ave West of Jackson Ave, adjacent to Katie’s Corner and Memorial Field. Hope to see you there when all this snow melts!

  • Julia Siegel says:

We’d love to have you! We meet on second Wednesdays at 7pm on the second floor of Borough Hall.

The bike study indicated the best bike routes to use in Rutherford is West Passaic and Carmita Avenue. It does not look to me those are included in your proposed bike path. Why is that?

    • Rebecca Weiss says:

Thanks, Tina. We do intend to include those streets in the network, but we are taking it one section at a time. Just not up to there yet.

There is sitting water in the public garden area/garden box in what was a fish pond. With the problems we’re having w/the mosquitoes & diseases they carry, someone really needs to take care of that asap. It’s been there since last year!.

    • JoAnn Hughes says:

      Thanks Donna – great point.

That small natural pond is treated is treated every year with

      – a safe & natural biological pesticide. The pond also hosts a family of goldfish who are very hungry for any insects that come their way.

You won’t find any mosquito larva in that pond. Yes. There should be a sign posted explaining this method
since it is a Teaching Garden.

We could really use an artistic volunteer to help with signage – anyone out there? great project for Scout Eagles or Golds.

What are we going to do about the low flying, sound and air polluting planes going in and out of Teterboro? Enormous health hazard. Major quality of life issue.
