Rutherford Community Garden Update 9/3/11
Weather: Saturday – High 82 – mostly sunny chance of thunderstorms
We are on for all volunteers. nine am until noon on Saturday
I have to work and will not be there but please feel free to pitch in.
The good news:
Irene spared the Garden. We lost exactly one 12 foot tall sunflower, other than that all is well. No river water reached the garden so we have no worries about pollution.
Many of our friends and neighbors were not so lucky.
Tasks: water, weed, plant fall veggies (lettuce, carrot & radish seeds in shed) tidy up after Irene. Plan for building a new berry bed from the great building stones on the site.
There is a fresh crop of raspberries – help yourself please.
See you all at the Green Team booth at the Labor Day Street Fair this Monday.
